Shell Hunter

Peel back four layers of a corporate structure. At each layer, choose the correct investigative technique to identify who is really in control.

Dr. Collen Lediga, Ruhr-Universität Bochum · Beneficial-ownership methodology.

Table setup · 1–6 players

Best with 3–4 (registry cell)

1Solo study

Six targets, one shot clock, one UBO name per target.

2Head-to-head

Investigator versus formation agent: the agent may relayer one target per round.

3–4Case cell

S1–S4; only the owning seat may spend a week of investigation time.

5–6Full table

Add S5 and S6 for a live adversarial hunt across all six targets.

Seats at the table

  1. S1Case officerChooses the target order and owns the shot clock.
  2. S2Registry analystOwns corporate filings, nominee patterns and agent fingerprints.
  3. S3Trust & fiduciary specialistSeparates settlor, protector, trustee and true beneficiary.
  4. S4Banking liaisonOwns account-opening files and signatory evidence.
  5. S5Open-source researcherLeaks, media, procurement records, corporate networks.
  6. S6Formation agent (red team)Plays the other side: adds a nominee layer once per target.

Team rules

  • 01One seat, one voice: a decision is only locked when the seat that owns it says so out loud.
  • 02Every locked decision needs a one-sentence justification the seat would defend in a real file.
  • 03Any player may call a 60-second 'case conference' once per round to force a table discussion.
  • 04The facilitator (or the highest-scoring player of the previous round) keeps time and reads the outcome cards.
  • 05Naming a UBO requires two independent sources at the table, not one lucky lookup.

Rotation — The red-team seat rotates every second target.
